SW 502 Widener University Challenges of Making a Diagnoses Discussion
After reading the article by Rosenhan, the article by Anakwenze, and the NASW Code of Ethics from this week’s Learning Resources, answer all of the following prompts for your initial post, using the questions as headings:
- What are the challenges of making a diagnosis? Use the Frances text pages 7-15 and discuss how these approaches are the same and/or different from the people diagnosed in the Rosenhan article.
- Use citations and references from the NASW Code of Ethics and Anakwenze’s article to discuss three ethical approaches (based on the NASW Code of Ethics) social workers must take when assessing and diagnosing people discussed in Anakwenze’s article.
