You will need to provide a clear definition of the role of this teacher and no matter who fills the role, the same basic job will be performed. Make sure to include your expectations for supervising children and the physical abilities needed to attend to children. For instance, infant/toddler teachers should be able to lift at least 40 lbs. regularly during an 8 hour shift. Address classroom maintenance, curriculum planning, supervision, orienting new staff, training, meetings, documentation, advocacy and family interactions. Also include a statement to let the reader know that other duties may be assigned as they arise.
