I’m working on a sociology writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Chapter 14:
- Pick a social problem that is related to the family. Find a recent news story on your topic. Write a summary of the news story. Identify 3 textbook terms from Chapter 14 that help explain it. Write a paragraph connecting these terms to the story.
- Look at section 14.2. Identify the changes in cohabitation rates. List at least two reasons the authors give for this change. Why are some couples choosing to cohabitate before marriage? What effect does cohabitation have on marriage?
Chapter 15:
- Consider a religion that you are familiar with, and discuss some of its beliefs, behaviors, and norms. Discuss how these meet social needs. Then, research a religion that you know nothing about. Chapter 16:
- Watch the video on new ideas in public education. The video is pretty old and a lot of the ideas are not new but being newly implemented on a wider scale. Research some new ideas in public education and explain how they can address continuing issues in education.
