My Data & Internet of Things Discussion Questions
I’m working on a data analytics discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
1. What types of data do you utilize in your work? What types of decisions are made with this data? In what way(s) does technology facilitate these decisions?
2. The Internet of Things (IoT) is an interesting and relatively recent development. Essentially, we’re adding sensors (something that grabs data -think cameras, microphones, GPS, RFID receivers, etc.) to “things” and making use of the collected data shared via the Internet.
Let’s get creative! After reading Chapter One’s opening vignette, “How Intelligent Systems Work for KONE Elevators and Escalators Company”, describe one Internet of Things (IoT) idea that does not yet exist. What is the device? What data is being collected? How might the data be used to predict or prescribe?
