Psychology is defined by your text authors as “the discipline concerned with behavior and mental processes and how they are affected by an organism’s physical state, mental state, and external environment” (Wade, Tavris, Sommers, & Shin, 2018, p. 3). Furthermore, psychology, a science, is differentiated from “pseudoscience” (i.e., beliefs or practices that use scientific terms and demonstrations to support claims that are not based on scientific research evidence) and “common sense.”
Give at least three examples of pseudoscience and/or so-called common sense and explain why the examples you have given are not considered “serious” psychology.
